Getting There

Address: The Crab Pot, South Sands Beach, Salcombe, Devon, TQ8 8LL

The Crab Pot is situated on the corner of South Sands which is located just inside the mouth of the Salcombe estuary in South Devon, South West England.

From Exeter take the A38 Exeter/Plymouth dual carriageway as far as South Brent. Turn off and follow the signs to Loddiswell (B3196). Continue on to Kingsbridge.

From Kingsbridge take the Salcombe road (A381) until you reach Marlborough where you turn right to Bolt Head. Continue on the narrow winding road and when you can’t go any further turn right to South Sands. Please note that if you are towing a boat you will have to go by the main road. On entering the outskirts of the town, look for the turning right into Sandhills Road (signposted North & South Sands). Once at South Sands you will see The Crab Pot (pink cottage) on the corner of the beach.

You can unload your luggage from the top of the alleyway which runs alongside the cottage. There are about 8 steps at the top. Alternatively, if it is low tide and the beach is not too busy you can drive onto the beach and unload directly into the cottage.

There is parking for one car in the Tides Reach car park. You will find an Authorised Parking notice in The Crab Pot. Please be sure to leave the card in the cottage when you leave.
