The Crab Pot Holiday Cottage in Salcombe

The Crab Pot was originally a fisherman’s cottage built on South Sands beach around a lime kiln situated in the rocks. This lime kiln is now the kitchen. South Sands is the most southerly bay within the Salcombe Estuary and later during the war part of the cottage became a pillbox looking out for enemy invasion.

It has since been converted to a well designed two bedroomed cottage ideal for a family holiday. The cottage can sleep up to 6 people as there is also a sofa bed in the sitting room.

It is approached down a public footpath which leads from the road above to the beach, or across the beach at low tide. With stunning views from the cottage, it’s also an ideal place to sit and watch the world go by or pop across to the boutique South Sands Hotel next door for a great dining experience.

For a self catering holiday cottage on the beach, you can’t get any closer!

"Two days is not enough. I could stay at the Pot forever!"
